KATHMANDU:
New York State High School curriculum in the United States has corrected the misconception that peace pioneer Gautam Buddha was born in India. As Buddha was born in Nepal At the initiative of a Nepali-origin social worker, the Department of Education has corrected misinformation such as ‘Social Education and Arts and Technology’ in grades 6 and 9, ‘Buddha was Burn in India’ in grades 11 and 12 on ‘World History’. On the initiative of Gyanal Thapa, a social worker and member of Queen’s Community Ward 5, the state education department has decided to correct the error. Social worker Thapa resolved to remain active for the national self-respect, independence, identity, sustainable development and prosperity of Nepal.
