Kathmandu, January 21st: The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for the ongoing academic session is scheduled to kick off on Chaitra 15th, as officially declared by Mahashram Sharma, the Board’s Chairman. This decision emerged from a meeting convened on Sunday by the National Examination Board. The SEE examination is slated to span from Chaitra 15, 2080 to Chaitra 27th.
Initially slated for the first week of Chaitra, the initiation date underwent a shift to the second week of Chaitra due to the impending Holi festival. Chairman Mahashram Sharma clarified, “Our original plan was to commence the exam in the first week of Chaitra, but given the proximity of the Holi festival and the impracticality of concluding the exam before it, we’ve opted to kick off the SEE exam from the 15th of Chaitra.”
The board, in its meeting held today, affirmed that the SEE examination would take place post-Holi, with Board Chairman Dr. Mahashram Sharma citing the adjustment in the schedule owing to Holi falling in between.
According to the board’s data, a total of 489,444 individuals have submitted registration forms for this year’s examination, encompassing 246,004 male candidates and 243,440 female candidates.
This year’s examination will follow the updated syllabus, and candidates will undergo evaluation using the letter marking system. Students scoring below 35% will be designated as non-graded (NG) on their grade sheet. Individuals failing in a maximum of two subjects have the option to retake the examination to enhance their grades.
