Siblings
Silence filled the air in a dark room with not so much as a spark of light illuminating the area
“Brother?” A soft, faint feminine voice broke through the deafening silence.
“Brother? Brother!” Yelled the soft voice a little more assertively now.
“Yes, yes Vanessa What is it? ” Replied a dull, almost lifeless voice.
“Brother! You’re awake! I’m so glad but right now we’re stuck in this dark room, how will we leave? We’ve been here for hours..”
“Mhm, I just woke up & about our current situation, I say we just blast through here. It’d be a hassle to do & think of anything else.”
“But… there could be people on the other side! They could get seriously hurt!”
“So? Like I care.”
“Brother!”
The boy let out a heavy sigh & then stood up.
“Alright….fine. Grab onto me, we’ll play by your rules.”
The little girl obliged & quickly scurried across the room towards her brother’s voice & held him tight.
“Ready!” said the girl enthusiastically, full of anticipation.
“Alright, off we go.” His voice remained monotonously dull.
A bright green light lasting only a few seconds engulfed the room & the two siblings that were standing in the middle of the room had completely vanished.
80 years ago, mysterious supernatural powers began appearing magically without any warning & had been bestowed upon humanity’s greatest warriors & those with pure hearts. There were very few people who received these blessings, each awakening unique & powerful abilities.
Our story is focused around two unfortunate siblings whose lives have been forever changed due to these curses they received at an early age. As of right now, they are being chased & tracked down by the country’s best military forces due to them being from an opposing country. The opposers having not even the faintest clue that they would possess unimaginably powerful abilities.
A few days later, after the disappearance of the siblings. We now see a room full of government officials discussing important state affairs, until….
“Alright gentlemen, before we conclude this conference we have one last report to review. I believe that the last in line would be…. Mr. Grey Mann” announced a cool & composed voice.
“Yes, certainly Mr. Prime Minister. I’ll begin my report now…” Replied a deeply troubled voice.
“Four days prior to this conference we found a pair of mysterious siblings in the far Southern reaches of America. An older brother & a younger sister. They seemed to be from….’that’ country.”
The entire hall full of ministers gasped & started discussing among themselves until the prime minister gave the signal to pause.
“Go on, Mr. Greymann. Tell us more.” asked the prime minister, now in a concerned voice.
“Yes sir. As per protocol we detained them & they were transferred to the most secure prison in America with absolutely no escape…Or so we thought until…” The man took a deep breath and a cold sweat ran down his chin.
The entire hall awaited Mr. Greymann’s next few words with bated breaths & silence.
“Until they vanished…” continued Mr. Greymann
At that moment, every person in the hall thought the same thought.
“Pardon? I- I don’t think we heard that quite right” asked the Prime Minister faltering in his words.
“There’s no mistaking it, both of them just vanished simultaneously. Cameras, thermal sensors, tracking devices, we tried everything! But alas to no avail…”
Greymann paused in his speech for a short amount of time before continuing.
“At exactly 3:57 AM 3 days ago, they vanished. After hours of analyzing & double-tripling checking this anomaly, there’s really only one somewhat conceivable answer which I’m sure you all have figured out by now.”
“An ability..”
“Precisely, the footage indicates that the boy was the one who caused this mysterious disappearance. We don’t know if the girl is an ability user either, but we can’t take any chances. The only information that we have about them are their names, ages & what they look like.
“This is…” The prime minister took a deep breath & let out a heavy sigh.
“This is very important news, why didn’t you inform me earlier? No, that’s not important right now. Tell us what we do know.
“The boy looks around 17 years and I’d say that the girl’s 15 or so. From the reviewed footage, the kids’ names seem to be Cesar Lemotive & Vanessa Lemotive. The boy has a fair facial complex with deep golden eyes & black hair while the girl has bright crimson eyes & brown hair. The brother has a transportational ability.”
“Alright, that’s all we currently need to know. Thank you Mr. Greymann, you can take your seat now.”
Mr. Greymann slumps back into his seat looking exhausted while the Prime Minister continues.
“Ladies & Gentlemen, as we have been notified of the world’s 8th & possibly 9th ability users, we cannot stand idle, we must prepare and think of a solution to this unforeseen crisis.” The prime minister said with a sense of responsibility and duty.
“This conference will now take a turn towards deciding what we should do with the siblings & what precautions should be undertaken. We will all meet here tomorrow to discuss this matter. This will need the utmost discretion & failure to do so will lead to the termination of your contract & position. Now, as of 1975, September 13. This meeting is adjourned!”
Meanwhile, somewhere far away in a suburban villa two individuals somehow manifest into existence successively after disappearing dozens miles away almost magically.
The scene now changes to a nearby house with a warm & welcoming ambience. In said house, a girl is seen waking up & getting ready for the day to begin.
“Ah~ Such a lovely day! I can’t wait to see what today has in store for me!” Said the young lassie in an upbeat & optimistic tone as she made her way to the balcony taking a deep breath of fresh air.
“GOOD MORNING WORLD!” The tranquil moment that only an early morning, right before dawn could provide was shattered by an ear-splitting screech that resonated throughout the entire villa.
“Hehe I love doing that. Maybe I’ll do it again!” said the girl gleefully as she took in a deep breath.
Right as she was about to continue her ear-splitting screech, it was then the oblivious girl finally noticed the pair of siblings watching her bizarre act across the lawn.
A moment of panic and confusion ensued as she choked on her own breath causing her to break into a bit of coughing.
“H-Huh? Who? What? How? Why?” She blurted out in a daze.
